i just want back in your head

hello blog fans, its debbie... long time no speak ! luckily debi has been keeping you up to date otherwise im pretty sure there would be a big deb(b)i(e) shaped hole in your life and no one wants that. Not been up to a whole lot, been working away and having a good time in the sun. Janet gave me her old bike so we went on a few bike rides to the lake and it makes food shopping much easier :) we worked out that going to the markets is waaaay cheaper than safeway. plus we picked up some eggs from the farmers market and they are so huge ! since living together we have realised we eat a log of eggs and milk...well i suppose we dont eat a lot of milk, we drink it.

yesterday i bought myself an ipod touch. im pretty much in love with it. its so good to have all my music on the go again and i can use it to go on the internet and various other fun things. Since i have been working more i was scooping up more tips so i lived off them and saved my wages up for it. so tips, as much as debi hates them, are good for something.

a couple of weeks ago we went to the railway club for their 'chicks with picks' night. it was really good, like reeeeeeeeeeeeally good. the first girl performed poetry instead of singing and it was amazing. she didn't have any CD's with her because she was from the states and it's illegal for her to take them over the border but when i got home i went online and bought it ! its the first cd i have purchased in quite a few years. So that should be arriving any day now

talking of post thanks for all the postcards :) i bought some stamps so theres no stopping me now.

in another random train of thought...as that seems to be the way this blog is going i was walking along the alleyway at the back of our house and about 4 houses over on the next street down is the house i went to view and almost lived in. didn't realise it was so close !! strange how things work out. the house next door (well lack of house) is getting built just now so the mornings have been a tiny bit noisy but it kind of just reminds me of home as my dad always has a project on the go. talking of which my parents have started a blog to document the changes to the house heres a link if your interested: http://annettebill-goingthroughchanges.blogspot.com/ i think the house looks so strange without the car port at the side !

today we are going to go to a couple of thrift stores and then im taking debi out for a meal as shes been being amazing and keeping the house in shape while im at work. making cherry pies and all sorts. and then we are going to the poetry slam as im now some sort of poetry fan !

thats all for now...sorry theres no pics but il get there one step at a time !

next installment

debi here again, just walked debbie to her work and picked up some milk and bread so i can finally have my breakfast at 12pm. ok so where was i......oh yeah, next exciting thing we did was go on a trip to bowen island which is a 20min ferry trip from horseshoe bay, it was such a scorchio day! we got the bus to horseshoe bay, then the ferry to snug cove on bowen island, a very cute little town

debbie on the ferry. gary and greg were coming with us but they missed the bus so turned up about an hour later

me on the ferry

some pics from around snug cove

the local library

you think debbie and greg would look a little more happy at having an ice cold cider in the shade on a scorching hot day

the house debbies going to buy us when she wins the lottery

we headed of for a walk to the lake but didnt realise it was so far so in the end we turned back without having found it

so we had to cool down at the tiny little stretch of beach we found

while we were walking around town we seen a girl do the most horrific fall of her long board, she just went flying along the road, when she stood up the whole butt cheek area of her denim shorts was ripped off and half her hand was flapping open, it looked sooooo sore! at least she had a helmet on

ok so on sat night debbie was working so i went to richmond to watch the terminal city roller girls derby with my friend suzanne, it was really good, altho quite hard to follow at the start, but i soon understood the rules, mostly

some of the roller girls doing there thing

suzanne and me enjoying a beer

on sunday we decided to have a pot luck lunch with the guys, so i made some mini quiches, debbie made some coleslaw and salad and the guys brought some potato and pasta salad and some pad tai, it was quite the feast. we sat out in the garden and ate it and drank rather large gins, shame debbie and greg had work later that day

the feast

some proud chefs

yuuuuuuuuum

mickey was very interested in the buffet, he's had a hair cut

he totally loves us now, look at his huge eye lashes, so cute

dessert. there was so many blueberries left over so i made blueberry muffins, they turned out pretty good

greg was so excited as he came out with his big piece of cake pilled high with cream and strawberries until it all collapsed, he tried to catch it but just ended up batting it with his hand, oh how i laughed

me and debbie went to see disneys UP 3d at the cinema, i really enjoyed it but i dont think debbie was to impressed. before we went we had a sneaky pint in the sun

so, thats us all caught up with what's been going on here, next time i wont leave it so long cause that was quite a blog-athon. debbies working till about 3ish today then we'r going to go to the library so we can get some new books, sun bathing just isnt as good if you dont have something to read. hope everyone is doing well and that the sun is still shining back in scotland

this might be a big one!

hi, debi here. since we havn't blogged in ages this one is gona be quite the entry, hopefully we'l try and do more frequent updates as to avoid this marathon! one of the problems is trying to get all the pics from both our cameras into one location. ok, here goes.

so things we have been doing, lets think back. well i managed to get my hands on a toaster at a yard sale for $1, previously to that this is how we toasted our muffins, not the best

me and debbie had a nice day out, walking from english bay (after having yam fries at our fav yam fry place) to false creek, then headed up main street where we went for fondue (i know we eat a lot), we were the only people on the patio, it was really good

hanging out at english bay b4 our big walk

on our walk

white wine sangria, yum

we had quite the feast, the fondue was really good but debbie said it wasn't as good as mine

that night we went to the roxy for drinks with greg and had to many double long island ice teas

we have spent a few days sunning ourselves in the garden, the weather was crazy hot for a while, i would say too hot!

debbie even got her hair cut, she came home all worried cause it was so short, but its grown back so quick

we went to the beach one night and had quite a few beers

we managed to find some disposable bbq's (very hard to find) and headed to the beach for the 1st bbq of the summer, good times

the very wierd shaped burgers, a good day to be a veggie i think

our ghetto balini's (slurpy & vodka) with rather expensive transformer straws

me manning the bbq

the bbq turned into outdoor drinking

gary couldnt handle the cold and had to climb inside his t-shirt

debbie decided that the homeless need to work harder for there empty cans

after the beach we headed to a pub for one more drink before heading home, gary had only arrived the day before and was falling asleep at the table

this is taking ages! dont think il let the updates slip by for this long again! might have to split it into 2 entries, il plod on and see how it goes

debbie finished work early one day so i went and met her on my bike then she took me out for an ice cream at the most amazing ice cream shop, iv never seen so many flavours. i had a scoop of choc and a scoop of baileys, debbie had basil.......yes you read that correctly, basil! she's a little to addicted to basil

debbie and her basil flavoured ice cream

debbie and my bike. she got to borrow a bike from the landlady so now we can ride round the hood together :)

me and my beloved bike

then we headed home and i made poutine, it was sooo good

the weather was getting so silly hot we decided to take a trip to kits outdoor swimming pool

debbie soaking up the rays

a baby beluga

everyone was out enjoying the sun

after the pool we met greg and gary at sophies diner, they have the best milk shakes ever!!

gary and his root beer float

we all got to do some colouring in

after stuffing our faces we headed back to our house, grabbing some beers on the way and invented a drinking board game, it was really good fun, i think we should go into the board game business

i rolled a 3 and blagged myself a free drink, unfortunately i had to down it

playing my fav part of the game, blowing cards of a wine bottle, its more fun than it sounds

right, i still have lots of things to report on, roller derby, bowen island and a pot lunch but i think that'l have to wait till the next update, i will try and do the next update tomorrow when debbie heads of to work
