On the Monday after St Patricks day me and Philippa went to New York for Spring Break. I feel like this deserves a separate entry (I just posted one about st patricks day under this one…yes you are spoilt) I loved it. Basically NY is the best ever (well I like berlin and Amsterdam too but its up there). I had such a good time and I loved everything, we did all the tourist stuff and….the best thing ever ever ever happened…I found Magners cider !!! So heres the pictures, theres a few more on my Flickr if you want to see them just click on any picture and check them out. but heres the best from the best (I took around 300 so didn’t upload them all)
We flew to Chicago first, heres a picture of it from the plane, it was strange to see it from so far above.
We arrived in new york a little sleepy but pretty excited
our hotel was very sexy, I had the top bunk and we each had our own wee tv screen. Ace.
every room had its own ipod docking station, the hotel was called the pod so I reckon that’s why
me and my first magners in 8months.wow.
the nypd in times square
our first new york breakfast
some new york looking stairwells
smoking manhole covers and yellow cabs, so ny
flag fest
no stereos
it snowed right before we got there
we got the subway down to the bottom of manhattan and the got the ellis island ferrie over to the statue of liberty. The sky was so perfect and so my pictures came out pretty well.

I think this is my favourite picture

I loved seeing old building in the middle of new york the contrast was beautiful
ground zero…
we walked all the way from the bottom of manhattan through to the top, zig zaging around to over next to the Brooklyn bridge and through china town. It was around an 8 mile walk ! we seen a tun of cool stuff though and I eve managed to squeeze in some shopping.
wall street
it was pretty clear once we entered china town
the menu also reflected that something was up…snail and frog porridge…my favourite
because without chives its just not worth having

yeh so I love stickers
they painted this special for me. Stands for Debbie Kelly new york.
squirrels in ny are fearless. This isn’t even zoomed in !
heres some views from the empire state building. Was great to see the water and islands
that’s the statue of liberty on the island in the middle, it really surprised me how small it was. I really thought it was HUGE
the building on the left is the chrystler building. Its always super shiny lookin
toys r us was full of stuff like this
some official ny cheescaek. Was so good. It was voted best in ny or something but basically I loved it. The girl in the background is not just a random, we met up with some folks from England that we know from Kansas for dinner. Oh and we are sitting outside because the place is right next to broadway and all the shows just got out so we had to freeze. Plus we are students so we bought a big cheesecake and cut it up with a fork cos its cheaper. Yas.
our hotel was getting done up. This guy was painting a mural on the wall
on our walk fest the following day we strolled past a large crowd with some camera things…turns out it was law and order being filmed ! nypd. That’s right. You can’t really tell from this picture but hey whatever
this woman is famous

some sort of chocolate fest
this is outside the m and m shop which was on 3 stories…mental
because obviously Scotland and great Britain are completely different places

I wanna go to New York again! I went to an m&m place like that in Vegas and bought $9 of m&ms but the I realised that they would melt at the speed of light so I had to eat them all. It was intense.
Who was the famous lady?

well it took me quite a while so im glad everybody enjoyed it :)
inverschnizzly your dream sounds extremely odd ! i can't analyse it at all except maybe you were anticipating my blog so much you started to dream about me !
alice thats super intense...i would of thought there crispy shells would have protected them ?
oh and im not sure who the famous lady was but they were filming law and order and she was standing there ready to walk once the camera started rolling so she was just a random acress really !
hey alice i went to the same m&m shop in vegas, but i prefered the coca cola shop shaped like a bottle next to it
It appears not. M&M should work on a melt-resistant thermoshell. I'd buy more M&Ms in hot climates. So many M&Ms....
I may work on a design now.
you should def get working on that shell design. i bet it would market well. also ice lollies that dont melt would be nice
Me and ice lollies don't get along since one made me bleed. I was furious.
