Monday night at 8pm we headed out for the pub crawl put on by the hostel. They organise a lot of event to get people meeting other people. its a good plan but everyone we meet is leaving van to head to whistler or home or the other side of canada...so so far our house warming consists of me greg alice and our lovely new cream carpet...what could possibley go wrong ! So anyway, we are getting pretty good at hanging out with strangers now, we have found it best to just remember where people are from as names seem to be a hard point for us all ! as our hostel is smaller than the HI central we had to go over there to get the party started. We waited in the lobby for the hostess to turn up. On the night club night the hostess was called CT and she was pretty chatty, they get paid in beers and free accommodation for taking us to various pubs. good times. This hostess looked at us all a bit suspiciously and didn’t really hang with us so im not sure she was in the right job. We went to the first pub which just happened to be Johnny Foxes Irish snug, right next door to the hostel. Alice almost passed out because she has wanted to go in there for ages. I got a cider...a strongbow no less. However, since I only really started drinking strongbow because it was cheaper than other drinks the novelty wore off when it was $2 more than Gregs pint of Canadian (the tenants of Canada). We sat at the table at the back and since there wasn’t enough room for everyone on the pub crawl we pretty much split into 2 groups and stayed that way for the rest of the night! We got talking to 2 Swedish guys (can’t help it everywhere I go Swedish people and me are drawn to each other !) and the American guy originally from japan from the club night was there too. After one drink we went to the next pub. Which was kind of irish too, but everyone working there was wearing kilts. Was a bit weird. Nice place though....just a bit too much like home...with expensive booze. We ended up staying there way longer, the rest of the group went on but we were having a good time so had some more drinks there (Canadian this time). Here are some lovely picture :)

We figured we better catch up with the group in case they were going anywhere exciting and having more fun than us. Despite how unlikely that may of been. when we got outside something in our drunk heads told us we needed group pictures, so we posed for quite a while as if we had been friends for years. or friends that had just met up after years...or just friends full stop.

After much posing we went to the royal to meet the rest of the group but they had left and it was totally dead. Like glow dead. So we danced around like monkeys for a while then left. Greg managed to lose his camera at some point during the evening....so if you spot it in any of these pictures let him know !

this might be why

I spent the most part of yesterday talking to debi and writing postcards, then I went for a wee walk and bought some books. At night we went to the templeton for delicious food. I had lasagne it was amazing. Love that place so much.

We headed home and pretty much straight to bed like the party animals we are. Its getting to the point I can’t blame it on time difference any more, but im still gonna try...it was jetlag. Today we went to the Vancouver aquarium, its pretty ace there, our Swedish friend came along too. One of the sea otters from last time that used to hold the other ones paw had died so once I stopped crying and trying to jump in to hold his paw we saw all the other animals, it really is cool place. Oh and the beluga had a baby, pretty cute ! and that pretty much takes us to the current moment. Not sure of our plans for the evening, but alice is off at a job interview right now so I better get my act together ! will post the aquarium pics in a sec cos they dont seem to want to be in this post for some unknown technical reason !

Why did you get a pic taken with that women?
What a lovely fire place, for a wee while was thinking it was the one in your new house!!! Thought you must be renting a mansion, then it dawned on me it would be from the hostel!
Looks like it was a great night out.
