Hello, WE HAVE A HOUSE !! so we went to view a flat on Friday, it was out past commercial drive, heres the link http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/apa/929343510.html . The street it was on was really nice but as we got the bus there we had to go through the east side of vancouver which is a bit rough (read, horrendous). The flat was owned by Leon, a Russin guy who made the whole situation sound like we were organizing a meeting with the russian mafia. The house was ok, pretty small and the walls were pretty thin, as in you could talk through them...probably whisper. He told us it would be getting done up as it was a bit of a hole. it was pretty cheap and had all the furniture so we were pretty tempted. it is probably a thousand times better than the picture, it has a garage and a patio and a real fire !! there are 3 bedrooms but one is way nicer than the smallest one so we are going to rotate. basically it is lovely. we signed the lease and will be moving in on the 1st of dec which is a week on monday. its $1850 a month so thats $616 each, im pretty excited to move in, its about 25mins from downtown on the bus in a really nice suburb type area. we went to granville island after and ate our weight in tasty food...pictures to follow :)
